Risk Assessment

Are You at Risk?

Check every box that applies to your situation. Most vehicle owners tick all of them β€” and don't realize it until the dashboard lights up.

The Hidden Vulnerability

Your Car Was Built Vulnerable

If your vehicle was built after 2005, its wiring is wrapped in something rodents find delicious.

To meet environmental regulations, manufacturers switched from petroleum-based wire insulation to soy-based alternatives. Nearly every major automaker made the switch β€” Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Ford, and more. The unintended consequence: soy-based insulation is, chemically speaking, food.

A rodent's sense of smell is up to 20 times more sensitive than a human's. The soy compounds in modern insulation register as edible. Combine that with a warm, sheltered engine bay, and you have the perfect rodent habitat.

πŸ‚ Two Peak Windows. Every Year.

Fall & Winter

Dropping temperatures drive rodents indoors. Your engine bay β€” warm, dark, sheltered β€” becomes prime real estate. Damage reports spike from October through February.

Spring Nesting

Breeding season means nest building. Wire insulation is ideal nesting material β€” soft, shreddable, and abundant. April through June brings the second wave.

The best time to protect your vehicle was before the season started. The second best time is today.

Dual-Action Science

Two Compounds. Zero Escape.

Most tapes use one deterrent. Rodents habituate to single-sensory triggers over time. GROUP DMR uses two independent compounds β€” making habituation neurologically impossible.

Natural Botanical Origin

Capsaicin

Derived from chili peppers β€” 100% natural, biodegradable, ROHS compliant

Capsaicin activates the TRPV1 pain receptor β€” present in all mammals β€” creating an intense, immediate heat sensation upon oral contact. The response is neurological, not learned. It cannot be suppressed by hunger or repeated exposure.

Guinness World Record

Denatonium Benzoate

The world's bitterest known compound β€” detectable at 10 parts per billion

DNB holds the Guinness World Record as the most bitter substance ever identified. Rodents detect it at concentrations of 10 parts per billion. The involuntary rejection reflex it triggers cannot be overridden by habituation, hunger, or repeated exposure.

Know Exactly Where to Wrap

Priority application zones β€” from critical to recommended

πŸš—

Upload your vehicle diagram image here (Customize β†’ this section β†’ Car image)

πŸ”΄ Critical Priority

  • Engine bay main harness β€” Highest risk zone. Soy-based insulation most concentrated here. Apply with 50% overlap along full harness length.
  • ECU connection cables β€” A single chewed ECU wire can immobilize the vehicle. Wrap every exposed run.
  • Battery cables β€” Warm, accessible, and mission-critical.

🟑 High Priority

  • Chassis undercarriage runs β€” Primary rodent travel route from ground level.
  • Fuel system hoses β€” Chew damage here is a safety hazard, not just a repair bill.
  • Cabin entry points β€” Where wiring passes through the firewall.

🟒 Recommended

  • Trunk area wiring β€” Secondary nesting zone, especially in parked vehicles.
  • Door & roof cable runs β€” Complete the perimeter for full protection.

What Our Customers Say

Real results from real GROUP DMR customers across the United States.

Safety, Handling & Disposal

Safe by Design. Responsible by Default.

βœ“ ROHS Compliant βœ“ Non-Toxic Formula βœ“ Non-Hazardous βœ“ Eco-Friendly βœ“ Safe for Humans & Pets βœ“ No Heavy Metals
Handling

No special handling precautions are required for normal application. The active compounds are sealed inside micro-encapsulated capsules and are not released during normal wrapping. Washing hands after application is recommended as a general hygiene practice. Gloves are optional but recommended for extended application sessions.

Children & Pets

Keep tape rolls out of reach of children and pets before application. Once applied, the tape presents no hazard to humans or pets in the vicinity β€” compounds are only activated by direct biting pressure. The product does not harm rodents β€” it creates a strong aversive deterrent experience that causes them to retreat. No animals are harmed in the use of this product.

Storage Before Use

Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. Optimal storage temperature: 5Β°C to 45Β°C. Avoid storage near open flames or extreme heat sources. Shelf life is 2+ years from manufacture date when stored correctly.

Disposal & Environment

Dispose of used or unused tape in accordance with local municipal solid waste regulations. Do not burn β€” PVC combustion produces harmful gases. The Capsaicin and DNB compounds are present in trace amounts and do not require special hazardous waste disposal. Packaging is recyclable cardboard. The product contains no heavy metals and no persistent organic pollutants.

Warnings

Do not apply to damaged, frayed, or exposed wiring β€” address underlying electrical damage before applying protective tape. Do not use as a substitute for proper electrical insulation repair. Not for use on live high-voltage exposed conductors. Keep out of reach of children under 12 years of age.

Emergency Contact

In case of accidental ingestion of tape material: contact Poison Control (US: 1-800-222-1222) or seek immediate medical attention. The active compounds include Capsaicin (natural chili extract) and Denatonium Benzoate at trace concentrations. For product safety questions: support@groupdmr.com
